Yes! We will have scheduled performers, so we ask that you kindly respect their space. However, we love a good dance party, so if the music moves you, feel free to join the fun.

Yes! One cocktail is included with each ticket. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the Gin Joint all evening. Please note that due to licensing requirements, cocktails from the Gin Joint must be consumed downstairs and can’t be carried into the upstairs gallery. Refreshments are complimentary at the VIP party from 7 to 9pm.

Our talented storytellers will provide an enhanced culinary experience as they entertain you with comedic, poetic, and heartwarming stories about the food you are eating. You will learn the recipe for a Spanish omelet and how it is interwoven with Loli Molina-Muñoz’s childhood memories. Juan Gonzalez will tell the tale of Gloria, the incredible woman who makes the best tacos in Mexico by using a few secret ingredients.

This is an indoor, outdoor, downstairs, and upstairs event. Tango dancers will perform on the enclosed brick courtyard outside. Inside the Gin Joint, you’ll find a tapas buffet, cocktail bar, and roaming food storytellers. Upstairs, we’ll feature guided art tours from 5 - 7pm and a VIP party from 7 - 9pm. Guests can move around and explore the venue, dance in the vestibule, or choose a table and settle in. Food, beverages, music, and entertainment will be available throughout the evening.

After the show, Patron-level ticket holders are invited to join us upstairs to meet the performers; mingle with special guests; and enjoy complimentary beverages and sweet snacks. We’ll have thank-you gifts to show our appreciation for our supporters. The funds we collect through our Patron of the Arts Program help support the efforts of culturally vital nonprofits such as the Poetry Society of South Carolina; pay performers and poets whose work enriches our community; and help Charleston’s vital local businesses thrive. Cheers to that!

The show must go on! . . . inside. We will gather inside the Gin Joint and upstairs in wet weather.

Knock on wood… but if the City of Charleston should issue a curfew due to a hurricane or severe tropical storm, we will unfortunately have to cancel the event for everyone’s safety. We cannot issue refunds. However, you may contact us about applying your ticket cost towards the admittance fee to a future event.

Dogs are strictly prohibited in the VIP areas. The courtyard will be filled with dancers and diners, so we recommend leaving non-service animals at home with a pet-sitter.
